English tenor James Bowers is an award-winning opera singer, concert soloist and choral singer. He trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

 

James has extensive operatic experience, having performed roles such as Rodolpho in Puccini’s ‘La Boheme’, Normanno in Donizetti’s ‘Lucia di Lammermoor’, Brelle in Arnold’s ‘Henri Christophe’, Dr Blind in Strauss’s ‘Die Fledermaus’ and Pygmalion in Suppé’s ‘Die Schöne Galatée’. He has performed with a number of professional opera companies including Opera Holland Park, Fulham Opera, Music Theatre Wales and Opera’r Ddraig.

 

He has also performed as a soloist on the concert platform in the UK and internationally, and has made a number of appearances at the prestigious ‪Malcolm Arnold Festival as a guest soloist. During his career he has performed in venues such as the Welsh Millennium Centre, Wembley Arena and Antwerp Cathedral, and he is also a recording artist for labels including Naxos and Toccata Classics. 

 

James also has extensive experience as a choral singer and choral director, and is currently assistant choral director of a choir in Buckinghamshire.
